Anti Aging Skin Care – Tips on How to Stop Looking Your Age

Have you stopped looking in mirrors?  Is that next big class reunion coming and you’re not sure you want to go because you are afraid that others won’t look as old as you do?  Well, you are not alone . . .

We all age, but the difference comes in how our bodies show that age.  In your life time, there are thousands of things that contribute to the way your skin looks.  Whether it’s exposure to sun, use of cigarettes and alcohol, diet, weight and the list goes on.

For many of us the goal is to postpone the signs and cover up the ones that are already there.  There are many ways to accomplish these goals and they all revolve around anti-aging skin care techniques.

The dermatology community has a number of ways to stop the appearance of aging.  There are Botox injections, micro-dermabrasion procedures and CO2 laser are just a few of the many choices.  Each of these comes with a variety of advantages and disadvantages, the biggest of which might be the price tag.

In my life, I don’t have the time, insurance or desire to pay some dermatologist what could easily be thousands of dollars a year to keep me looking my best.  So, instead I started to do my own research on anti aging skin care products.

I already knew that collagen is one of the most important things your skin loses as time marches on.  The loss of collagen as well as the skin protein elastin is what causes at first those fine lines and then later become those deep wrinkles.

Over time we also lose another vital skin protein, keratin.  If you have ever complained about your fingernails or hair breaking easily, well blame it on the loss of moisture in the top layer of your skin where keratin plays a vital roll.  By moisturizing your skin with an anti aging skin care cream, you enable keratin to function correctly producing healthy looking skin, nails and hair.

In my research, I found a number of moisturizers listing keratin but when you really look into where their ingredients come from, many contained a hydrolyzed keratin.  That means they took animals parts (let’s not talk specifics here) combined with acid and the result was a de-naturalized keratin that they then add to their skin care products.

I personally don’t like to apply animal products to my body.  So, I look for <a target=”_blank” title=”Anti Aging Skin Care ” rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview(‘/outgoing/article_exit_link’);” href=”http://www.anti-aging-skin-products-site.com/”>Anti Aging Skin Care </a>

By moisturizing correctly, I can help my body maintain health keratin, repair and replace the vital collagen and elastin needed to look my best.
