Now that I have turned 30 (+1) I would like to know what is best for anti-aging. I read a variety of sources some people swear by products by la prarie, roc, olay, clinique, bliss. However, I have tried many of these brands and not seen a noticeable difference.
There are others though, who say it is best to put pure oil on the skin, especially coconut oil or vitamin e. And Burt’s bees products too, even though they are not “raw” they have a LOT less chemicals than the above mentioned brands.
So what I want to know is, BESIDES proper diet, excersice, and drinking enough water, what is best to keep your skin looking young? The expensive (or not so expensive depending on the brand) chemicals, including amino acids and peptides and retin, or natual oils and perhaps a more natural brand like burts bees?
There is a world of informaiton out there, i am willing to spend money to look good, but i dont know if its all hype. Ladies 30+ who look younger than their age, what do you use? Also can you please list your race as darker women and asian women tend to age better? Thank you!!!

This is going to be a long response. I am a 28 year old white female. I look 5 years younger than what I am. I used to work for MAC, Prescriptives, Sephora, and other beauty retailers over the past 10 years. I would say some of the most important things are 1)use an spf of 30 to prevent further aging. 2) exfoliate to make products penetrate the skin better 3) by cleansing, treating the issue, hydrating, protecting and exfoliating- you WILL see results within 30 days.
There are so many brands out there. Two amazing skincare brands that some of the most beautiful youthful looking women over 30 have sworn by are 1) Dr. Perricone and 2) Shiseido. Both of these lines have many amazing products, and I have seen results, and women 40+ with better skin than me! Some other products by other brands that do well are 1) Alpha Beta peel pads by MD Skincare (great exfoliator!) 2)Clarins has their spf 40 that is so sheer and light 3) Purity cleanser by Philosophy 4) Peter Thomas Roth’s skin lightening gel 5) Prescriptives Super line Preventor
I have used a natural line called Boscia, I like their products for light hydration, but I didn’t see a differnce in my skin. A problem with natural lines is, you have to use it within 6 months of opening or it will go bad or stop working because there aren’t preservatives in truly “natural” lines. I tend to stay away from the natural products when looking for a treatment/corrective product.
I hope this all helps!
