  1. Pieter says:

This is the revised and expanded edition of the groundbreaking work Stopping The Clock. It contains the latest research results plus more information on cutting edge supplements and other longevity factors.

Chapter One discusses various theories of aging and the top 10 biological processes in the human body that decline with aging. Chapter Two explores hormone therapy in longevity with a look at natural hormones like HGH, DHEA, Melatonin, Estrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone and Thyroid Hormone.

Chapter Three: Longevity and Nutrition, investigates the role of vitamins and their co-factors, minerals, amino acids and other nutrients like green tea, griffonia seed, tea tree oil, essential fatty acids, saw palmetto, bilberry, echinacea, cayenne, ginkgo, ginseng, bee products, colostrum, soy isoflavones and polyphenols.

Chapter Four deals with lifestyle factors such as diet, detoxification, exercise and sleep, and also provides various anti-stress tips. Chapter Five includes a longevity test and supplies the personal longevity programs of the pioneers of anti-aging medicine, including their personal supplement regimes, diets and exercise programs.

There is also a chapter on biotech human enhancement/augmentation. This cutting edge book on living a longer and healthier life concludes with a glossary, a list of anti-aging resources, info on the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, a bibliography and an index. It is a detailed and extensive guide to living a longer and healthier life.

  2. Zach Scott says:

This is the best all-around book on anti-aging that I have seen. It functions as an encyclopedia of food supplements including research findings, includes descriptions of just about every theory of aging, has chapters devoted to male and female hormone supplementation, and gives practical lifestyle advice to help you live longer.

  3. There are 6 sections to this wonderful book.

Section One deals with the theories of aging and ends by delving into the various body systems that are affected by the aging process.

Section Two goes into the endocrine system. Entire chapters are devoted to growth hormone, melatonin, oestrogen, testosterone and thyroid hormone. The authors give us the facts on how these hormones affect or are affected by the aging process. Supplementation is mentioned, but the authors made no attempt to “sell” anything.

Section Three deals with nutritional supplements. The list is quite exhaustive and make a very good reference for anyone considering supplementation. Here again, the reviews are quite balanced. No “miracle” nutrients and contraindications are mentioned as well.

Section Four deals with lifestyle factors in anti-aging. Topics include diet, detox, exercises, anti-stress tips, skin care and protection from pollutants. A lot of unsurprising, unsensational yet sound advice here.

Section Five gives us insight into what some health gurus do to stay fit and healthy. It won’t be easy for any of us holding a fulltime job in the city to follow. There is also mention of stem cell research and other cool stuff that will be coming our way soon.

Section Six provides a glossary and some references as well as a directory of anti-aging resources.

The greatest thing about this book, is that it is “scientifically” written by 2 doctors who live up to their professional training. Aimed only at informing and educating the reader, it provides nothing sensationally pro this or anti that. If you can only afford one book on this topic, buy this one.

  4. T. Sanderson says:

I have read most of Dr Klatz boks concerning human growth hormone and have tried many products over the past 7 years. I have used the injectable HGH called saizen i purchased from International Antiaging Systems online cheapest and most reliable source, and found it to be amazing stuff. For best results i normally use the injections every other night and on the odd nights i use ghr platinum antiaging formula available on Amazon. The ghr platinum works almost as well as the injectable. I tried doing injections every night and it caused mild side effects i didnt like and found i got zero side effects doing the injections on odd nights. When i run out of the expensive injectable hgh i just take the ghr platiinum every night as it is almost as potent plus i dont have to do the needles. The ghr platinum is the most potent capsule formula i have found as i have tried em all. Also use DHEA as it increases testtosterone. The GHR store online sells the platinum and dhea.

  5. This book is a good source for information on the many different kinds of supplements that are useful for anti-aging. Its recommendations are useful but one will not find any specific programs for oneself as these are best done with a doctor’s advice.
